Planting Lemon Trees

Yangilik 1

In greenhouses, lemons are typically planted in 3x3, 4x3, or 5x4 patterns. To maximize space efficiency, growers often try to plant seedlings as densely as possible. In such cases, it is necessary to prune the seedlings into a more compact shape. However, overly dense planting is not recommended. Seedlings must receive adequate sunlight and should not interfere with each other's growth.

It is crucial that the greenhouse soil is fertile and rich in humus. Adding approximately 20 percent well-rotted manure and clean sand to each planting spot helps young lemon seedlings establish themselves firmly, leading to faster growth and easier development.

Seedlings aged 1 or 2 years take root more easily and develop rapidly. In contrast, older seedlings aged 3, 4, or 5 years tend to root and grow more slowly. Planting is carried out from the last ten days of March until April 20 or 25. Seedlings planted between April 1 and April 15 show the best establishment rates.
