Temperature for Tomato Cultivation

The minimum temperature for tomato germination is 15ºC, but the process accelerates at temperatures between 20ºC and 24ºC. Tomatoes can withstand a drop in night temperature to 13,5ºC, but if daytime temperatures stay below 15ºC for a week or longer, growth slows down and the crops begin to perish.

If the temperature drops below 13,5ºC at night, pollen does not develop, and flowers that open the following morning will not bear fruit. Generally, agricultural scientists recommend an ideal temperature of 20ºC to 24ºC for the optimal growth and fruiting of tomatoes.
